The turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie is done and we have officially started the holiday season. The Caloosa Dive Club will meet on Saturday December 2 for our annual Christmas Party featuring a full holiday dinner, gift exchange, a deranged Christmas sweat shirt contest and other forms of fun. More importantly we get together as a club for the final social event of the year. The party is free to members so come out and enjoy a special night with your CDC family. Call me to sign up.
We will wrap up the year with a meeting on December 7. The agenda will focus on getting 2018 off to a good start. January 2018 will include a Chile cook off where we hope to answer this question. If it has beans is it really Chili or just a tasty spicy stew. The answer is obvious to me. A trip to the Florida aquarium in Tampa is planned for January 20. Mark your calendar and enjoy an excursion day out in the frozen tundra that is Florida.
Plans for Crab Claw 2018 are on the drawing board. Mark Feb. 10with a save the date. Dinner will feature the popular dishes and maybe a surprise or two. Details to be sent out soon.
I would like to note that November was a busy month for the club. Terry wells was elected secretary, we went canoeing on the peace river with many gators, our annual tailgate meeting was well attended and attracted no law enforcement. Maybe we need to try harder. A holiday ham dinner with a weird twist was held and was very entertaining. We also attended the Fort Myers Boat show and talked diving with a wide range of visitors which fulfilled a part of the clubs mission. Thanks you to everyone who helped man our table.
I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and please keep our club members who are having struggles in their lives in your thoughts and prayers.
